Victor De Cerqueira is a Sr. Software Engineer at ProNova Solutions, a local cancer treatment research company. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has lived in Knoxville since 1999, and graduated summa cum laude with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee. He is happily married to Russian-native Anastasia De Cerqueira (née Aksenova), and the father of Daniel De Cerqueira.
A member of Providence since 2000, Victor has served in various roles through the years, including children’s ministry, sound board operator for the worship team, and GAP (Global at Providence). He has also participated in the Barra Church plant effort in Brazil, having returned there through the years to relish on God’s tremendous work of growing and using that church to reach its community and beyond with the Gospel.
Victor also serves as a member of KIN (Knoxville Internationals Network), a multi-church ministry that seeks to connect, equip, and encourage the body of Christ in Knoxville to love internationals living among us. His duties include the development of KIN’s website and management of online training videos.
Despite residing in the U.S. since 1999, Victor still struggles with peculiarities of the English language, such as the fact that people drive in parkways and park in driveways.
